A History of Writers Lunch
Shannon and Sean started hosting Writers Lunch at Mélange Creperie in 2018, inviting local writers to talk about their craft to a group of aspiring authors. Early guests included poet David Leftwich, food writer Nick Hall, western novelist Tex Thompson, and SFF author Cassandra Clarke. Over the next couple of years, the group grew to include a dozen regulars, all meeting to discuss writing over coffee and crepes.
But when COVID struck, we shifted gears. Not only did Writers Lunch move online, but we also expanded our base to writers beyond Houston—and we've never looked back! We’ve since expanded to five regular hosts—all members of Tomeworks—and continue to have guest hosts with a range of expertise.
